In the Summer of 2019, going into my Senior Year of College, I interned as a Visual Merchandising Intern with Paper Source at their Corporate Headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. This was one of the most rewarding and exciting opportunities of my college career, and led to so many different learning experiences, networking opportunities, and innovative creation. As a Visual Merchandising Intern I worked directly with the Director of Visual Merchandising and the Visual Merchandising Team to merchandise fixtures in the Mock Store, which images of fixtures were then distributed to all stores to replicate the structure and design. My responsibilities also involved utilizing Adobe platforms to assist in developing Window Display Designs, as well as attending cross-departmental meetings. In order to successfully merchandise, the team had to attend and work cross functionally with the Merchandising, Planning, & Allocation team, Marketing and Creative Team, as well as Store Operations. This intertwined collaboration allowed me to develop and understand the inner-workings of a corporate retail organization.
