Start the day off at Sunny Side Up for breakfast. It's an old townhouse turned into a charming breakfast and lunch place. Sit outside on the patio or sit inside! Inside definitely ask to be seated by the window, so while you eat you can marvel at the Chicago streets below!
Grab a cup of coffee at Dollop Coffee Co. in the Streeterville District. They make the best Metropolis coffee around!
Hike down Michigan Avenue across the Chicago River, on the bridge you can see awesome views of the river, the buildings of Michigan Avenue, and Trump tower, I guess.
Head towards the Loop, and visit The Bean (Cloud Gate) in Millennium Park. Even take a picture of yourself in the reflection! Everyone does it!
Stop by the Willis Tower (also in The Loop) and hike up to the 103rd floor. You are higher than the Eiffel Tower and you can see three different states! Walk out on the Skydeck glass boxes and stand over the city streets and buildings! Kinda like you are floating in mid-air.
Enjoy a delicious, Italian lunch at Eataly. Eataly is basically a Dean & Deluca on steroids. It's amazing I promise. Try their sampler of Italian meats and cheeses.
Spend the afternoon shopping like crazy on Michigan Avenue. Although we have a ton of these stores, they are still worth it. Each store is about 100 times bigger than any local one you'll ever set foot in.
Once you finish shopping for yourself, wonder into Saks Fifth Avenue, it's a museum I swear, and look around in all the high-fashion stores like: Chanel, Gucci, and Prada. You name it, it's there.
Walk to the Gold Coast area and sit down for a cupcake at Sprinkles. The creator is a judge on Cupcake Wars, so you know it's the real deal!
For dinner, sit outside at Tavern on Rush. They've got some pretty great food and a super awesome atmosphere. The Gold Coast area pops at night.
For all you chocolate lovers out there like myself, eat the world's best chocolate cake at the Grand Lux Café on Michigan Avenue. Enjoy the cake with some coffee and look out over the nightlife of Chicago.
Before you venture home, grab a jumbo bag of the Chicago Mix popcorn from Garret's Popcorn. If you don't buy it you're missing out, believe me, it is to die for.
